Where are you at with your super?

Financial planning

QIEC Super has teamed up with QIEC Financial Planning, a highly qualified team of Financial Planners, to provide financial advice and to assist you in achieving your financial goals and objectives.

QIEC Financial Planning operates on a ‘Fee for Service’ basis. QIEC Financial Planners receive a fixed salary with no bonuses or commission payable for any product or performance related sales targets. An initial appointment with a Financial Planner is complimentary and obligation free, and can be held face to face or over the phone.

The financial advice options available include: simple general advice or factual information, superannuation related advice (also known as intra-fund advice) and full comprehensive advice. The financial planning team can also assist you to complete and lodge paperwork to implement any advice provided.

General advice or factual information does not take into account your personal circumstances and could include a discussion on topics such as:

  • Information on QIEC Super or your QIEC Super account
  • Types of superannuation contributions, contribution eligibility and contribution caps
  • Conditions of release from superannuation
  • Minimum and maximum income stream payments
  • Transition to Retirement rules

Intra-fund advice covers simple superannuation topics such as:

  • Boosting your superannuation savings through pre-tax or post-tax contributions
  • Calculating an appropriate level of insurance cover within your superannuation
  • Assessing your tolerance to investment risk to determine a suitable investment option mix within your superannuation
  • The use of superannuation beneficiary nominations
  • Transferring superannuation to an income stream account

Comprehensive advice includes more complex issues such as:

  • Rolling over or combining your superannuation accounts
  • Establishing a Transition to Retirement Strategy
  • Assessing your insurance needs outside of superannuation (e.g. Trauma insurance)
  • Investments into managed funds
  • Complex Estate Planning issues
  • Debt reduction strategies
  • Determining your eligibility for government entitlements (e.g. Age Pension)
