How to join as an Employer

At QIEC Super, we make super, simple. That means you can look after your business while we look after your employees super.

Joining QIEC Super as a participating employer is simple. Firstly, obtain a copy of the Employer Handbook. You can download this or you can call QIEC Super Administration on 1300 360 507 and we will send one to you.

If you are paying for an existing QIEC Super member and you prefer not to join (i.e. become a participating employer) you can choose to be an unregistered employer.

Once you have a copy of the Employer Handbook, here's what you need to do:

Step 1 - Complete the Employer Registration form

The Employer Registration form is at the back of the Employer Handbook and Registration. Be sure to include all of your details including:

  • A key contact
  • When contributions will commence
  • Frequency of your contributions (monthly or quarterly)
  • E-mail address
  • How many employees you have in total
  • How many employees you have with QIEC Super

Important: You may have an obligation under an Award or EBA to remit superannuation contributions to the Fund on at least a monthly basis. Despite the quarterly SG requirements, employers subject to such an Award, enterprise or workplace agreement should pay contributions in accordance with the relevant Award or agreement.

Mail the Employer Registration form to:

Step 2 - Add your employees as QIEC Super members

New members

When a new employee commences who is not a QIEC Super member, add their details to your next Contribution Return, have them complete a Member Application, and forward the form along with your next Contribution Return to QIEC Super.

You can also provide your new members with a Combined Annual Report, Member Handbook and Financial Services Guide.

Existing members

Existing members should produce their membership card as proof of QIEC Super membership when they commence work. Existing members do not need to complete a new Member Application form.

Their existing membership number and other details should be noted on your next Contribution Return.

Step 3 - Making contributions to QIEC Super

You can choose to pay your contributions using any of the payment options offered by QIEC Super:

Employer Online

The Employer Online facility is very popular with employers. It allows you to pay contributions electronically and submit and access your contribution details via the Internet.

You can register for Employer Online by downloading a Direct Debit Request form from the QIEC Super website. Once we have received your completed Direct Debit Request form we will issue you with a password via email.

Cheque

You can pay your contributions via cheque payable to QIEC Super Pty Ltd.

Contribution returns

Your contribution return will be the form used to remit your contributions. Simply fill in the types of contributions being made (Employer, Member Voluntary or Salary Sacrifice) and mail the form to QIEC Super with either a cheque or a payment made by BPay.

Transferring to QIEC Super

If your employee(s) wish to transfer their super from another fund, they will need to complete and return a Member Rollover Authorisation form.
